I think the root of this problem has more to do with the lack of lone-wolf player content and much less to do with WH space and the construction of a POS in them.
No matter which way you cut it, there are players who don't have time to spin in a station for an hour waiting for their team/group/fleet/corp to get its act together for a mission or foray.
That hour is ALL they have. Not everybody can work part time and live in Mommas basement.
And let's face the reality: it's starting to appear the WH space is only existing for two things: Making T3 something that takes more than ISK and missions to aquire, and to finally shut up all those people endlessly caterwauling about how they get their 0.0 POS bowled, or blobbed, etc.
Many who refuse to trade or mine - thereby making this game for them to be something of a glorified chat room - hoped that exploration of WH space would be the dawn of an exploration career that could possibly be solo or closer to it. Drug smuggling, archeology, bounty hunter - all others fields that have fallen in neglect in EvE. This is a pattern in the game, like entropy that affects everything in the universe, the blob/spank/tank/gank/steal thing takes up most of the content. No matter what you do, it all ends up being pointed in that direction.
So of course some people are going to be frustrated when it was hoped that a WH system might have some rare opportunities, perhaps some rare items, some things not seen before, experiences worth writing about.
But instead, there is a POS in there and if you say anything in local, a half dozen BS show up and they all have a bad case of Jan Brady syndrome loooking to kill you with the same level of dysfunction and desire seen in those you find in 0.0 space - seemingly looking to get revenge for someone diddling them when they were kids. I use the term "emorageganker" for a reason.
But this is not about WH space as much as it should be about failed content. And this is not really the fault of CCP. Look at what is already available in the game in mods and objects and the content is there, but there are no missions around it, nor any real profitable or rewarding use for them. How many people trained up for hacking and archeology to use the mods and find they seldom use them? (Cue the one player who will now come in with the "Why, I make <insert heinous ISK amount here> a day with my mods therefore I am right and uber leet and you are wrong! Marsha Marsha Marsha!)
It's not CCPs fault, because the squeaky wheel gets the grease, and most of the squeaking is all about PVP and those who don't like PVP and want to nerf it arguing with those who want their I WIN button. So the people sitting there with hack and arch mods in their hangars wait patiently and will wait much longer too.
Oh well. WH space will be strip-malled like the rest of 0.0, those who came back to the game for the exploration will let their accounts go dormant, and it will be back to miners getting ganked by killmail addicts. Like usual.
